Tuesday, July 9 marked 63 years since a catastrophic earthquake on the iconic island of Santorini, one of the biggest tremors in Europe in the 20th century.
The quake was followed by a 25-meter tidal wave, known as a tsunami in our days, which claimed numerous victims and caused significant damages on Santorini and nearby islands.
