Abbot of St. David Monastery in northern Evia recalls devastating wildfire that encircled site in Aug.

The Elder Archimandrite Gabriel, the Abbot of the St. David Monastery in northern Evia island, spoke to Pemptousia FM on Friday over the very difficult situation faced by the monastery’s monks last August, during a particularly destructive front of wildfires that devastated northern Evia in the summer.
The Elder Gabriel referred to the miraculous manner in which the historic monastery remained just beyond the flames.
