The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, will represent the Ecumenical Patriarch at the Great Feast and annual celebration this weekend at the Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropegial Orthodox Monastery of St. Irene Chrysovalantou, in New York City’s Astoria district.
Elpidophoros will officiate at Saturday’s Great Hierarchical Vespers, while on Sunday the Great Procession of the miraculous icon of St. Irene Chrysovalantou will be held.
The annual Greek Festival at the parish also coincides with the weekend celebration.
