His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America issued a statement on the anniversary of the invasion of Cyprus:
“On this solemn anniversary, we remember the illegal invasion and occupation of Cyprus by Türkiye that took place fifty-two years ago. Peace and justice for Cyprus remain unfulfilled, and we affirm our unwavering solidarity with Cyprus and its people. We continue to pray and work for a just, peaceful, and lasting settlement that will reunify the island.”
