Archbishop Elpidophoros received on Wed, August 14, 2019 Metropolitan Tikhon of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) for their first official visit. The two hierarchs discussed the developing relationship between the Archdiocese and the OCA in recent years, committing to deepening cooperation. They continued with the topic of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA, emphasizing the need to strengthen relationships between the various Orthodox jurisdictions in the USA. Archbishop Elpidophoros and Metropolitan Tikhon expressed mutual desire for regular visits as well as frequent Eucharistic concelebration.
Accompanying His Eminence Metropolitan Tikhon was Fr. Alexander Rental, OCA Chancellor and Deacon Joseph Matusiak.
