The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Tuesday afternoon attended the book launch of a Greek-language edition entitled “Women in the Shadow of Violence: Pastoral Responsibility and the Viewpoint of Religions”.
In his address, His Beatitude noted that “…the book in question is the product of a pilot conference of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, and specifically focuses on the Holy Metropolises of Thrace… I need not remind you that the various instances of psychological and physical violence against women are considered absolutely unacceptable and condemned by the Holy Scriptures, our Church tradition and Christian ethics …because it is impossible for violence to co-exist with love, since in violence hides malice, selfishness, and the shadow of death, while in love shines the light of heaven, humility, joy and the peace of God.”
