The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, early Wednesday afternoon received Turkish-American NBA star Enes Kanter at the Archdiocese see in the Greek capital.
The Primate of the Church of Greece welcomed the standout player and outspoken human rights champion – who legally changed his name to Enes Kanter Freedom after acquiring US citizenship in 2021 – and asked him of his impressions of the country.
Kanter answered that he’s visited Greece on several occasions and repeated the phrase on a T-shirt he was wearing, namely, “We are family”, featuring both the Greek and Turkish flags.
