The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Wednesday co-officiated at a Patriarchal and Synodical Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. George, within the see of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople.
In a statement, His Eminence noted that he was “…overjoyed to witness the investiture of a new class of Archons at the Ecumenical Patriarchate… among which are the four distinguished doctors from New York who treated His All-Holiness during his Apostolic visit to the United States one year ago.”
Referring to the Feast of the First Throne of Orthodoxy, the Archbishop of America added, “…let us rejoice in the ministry of the successor to the First-Called Apostle Andrew, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The ministry of the Mother Church is one of peace, love, and hope for the world.”
