The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, this week received a large delegation of local government office-holders from his native island of Crete.
In receiving the group at the Archdiocese’s see in Sydney, the Archbishop briefed his fellow Cretans over the programs and activities of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, while replying to questions regarding the life and progress of ethnic Cretans in Australia.
A reception was later held in honor of the delegates, with Archbishop Makarios, in his brief address, calling on the visiting guests to his blessings and fraternal love to the newly enthroned Archbishop of Crete, His Eminence Evgenios.
