Archbishop of Australia Makarios: ‘we ought to heal scandals of schisms that have plagued our Archdiocese for many years’

The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, on Sunday, speaking after the ordinations of two clergymen, a deacon and a priest, told the assembled flock at the Church of Sts. Constantine and Helen in Melbourne that “…we ought to heal the scandals of the schisms that have plagued our Archdiocese for many years.”
During a brief address before his ordination as a deacon, Fr. Irineos Koikas, who until recently served members of the ethnic Greek community of St. Paraskevi in St Albans as a non-canonical clergyman, first expressed his gratitude to Archbishop Makarios for the affection with which he was received by the latter, and for returning him to the ranks of the canonical Church.
