Members of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Archdiocese of America on Wednesday unanimously accepted a recommendation by the Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, to immediately send a request to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Mother Church.
The Holy Eparchial Synod of the Archdiocese of America will request that its current Church charter be lifted out of abeyance, and be formally returned to a normal status – until a review process regarding the Charter is concluded.
The Holy Synod was convened via videoconference.
