The Archdiocese of Athens has announced that all of its charitable institutions and social structures will continue to cooperate with state and municipal entities in order to maintain the delivery of meals to at risk households and individuals.
Other Metropolises under the jurisdiction of the Autocephalous Church of Greece are urged to follow suit.
In a related development, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece a day earlier called on all hierarchs, priests, deacons, monks or any other “worker of the Church”, as it said, to refrain from public statements and appearances in mass media and the Internet over the coming period, adding that the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and St. Vlassios, His Eminence Ierotheos, has been designated as the Holy Synod’s spokesman amid the ongoing pandemic.
