The key to the city of Lavrio, a coastal municipality southeast of Athens proper, was presented to Athanasios and Marina Martinos this week at a celebratory event in the township, in the presence of the resident Metropolitan of Mesogeas and Lavreotiki, His Eminence Nikolaos, Parliament deputies, local office-holders and officials.
Athanasios Martinos, the civil governor of Mount Athos, and his wife Marina, are well known philanthropists.
