The award-winning film “Man of God”, premiered in Bucharest on Tuesday evening.
During a press conference before the screening, Fr. Nicolae Dascălu, the representative of the Patriarch of All Romania, His Beatitude Daniel, bestowed the Order of the Praying Theotokos – the Virgin Orans – to Yelena Popovic, the director and screenwriter of the film, on behalf of the Patriarch.

The order was established this year by the Romanian Patriarchate, as 2022 was proclaimed a Solemn Year of prayer in the Church’s life and the Christian’s life.

“Man of God” recounts the life, works and tribulations overcome by 20th century St. Nektarios of Aegina.

The inspirational film, which posted record ticket sales in Greece and Cyprus, is a production of the St. Maximos the Greek Institute, with the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi the primary supporter of the production.
