The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, and members of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Holy Synod expressed their abhorrence with the terrorist attack against two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
On his part, the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of New Zealand, His Eminence Myron, expressed his shock over the deadly attacks.
The Greek community of Melbourne also issued an urgent announcement expressing its condolences to the people of New Zealand and the relatives of the victims, who were gunned down in cold blood in the two mosques.
Practically all of Greece’s political leadership also expressed revulsion with the terrorist act, while expressing solidarity with the families of the victims and the injured.
