The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church on Friday announced that the Church’s hierarchs and officials will not participate in any of the events related to an upcoming visit to the country by Roman Catholic Pope Francis.
The only exception will be a meeting between the Bulgarian Patriarch, His Beatitude Neophyte, with the Pope at the Holy Synod.
