The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, on Wednesday commemorated his 90th birthday at the Patriarchal residence in Tbilisi.
Government officials, representatives of various sectors of society and Primates of foreign Churches conveyed their congratulations to the Patriarch. Among those who visited the Patriarch was the Caucasus country’s prime minister, Irakli Garibashvili.
Patriarch Ilia remains one of the most influential personalities in Georgia and a beloved Shepherd of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
His Holiness and Beatitude also recently commemorated his 45th year on the Throne of the Georgian Church.
