On Sunday, 8 March, the memory of Saint Gregory Palamas was honoured at the Representation Church (Antiprosopion) of the Monastery of Esphigmenou on Mount Athos.
The celebration was presided over by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Theophylaktos of Caesarea, of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
The feast holds particular significance for the brotherhood of the Monastery of Esphigmenou, since Saint Gregory served as Abbot of the Monastery for three years, making him one of the most important figures in the historical course of the monastery.
