Celebration of the Independence of Georgia at the Georgian Community of Constantinople

On Sunday, 24 May, the Georgian Parish of Constantinople celebrated the Independence Day of Georgia at the Parish Complex of Saint George in Edirnekapı, in Constantinople.

The celebration was organised by the Parish with the support of Georgian organisations and associations.

The festivities commenced with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregorios of Ankara, Protosyncellus and representative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, concelebrating with Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Fr Elias, parish priest of the Community, and the Patriarchal Deacon Fr Photios.

Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, congratulatory addresses and greetings were delivered by Metropolitan Gregorios of Ankara, Fr Elias, the Consul General of Georgia in Constantinople, Mr Aleksandre Jishkariani, and representatives of the organisations that supported the event.
