Christians in Madagascar continue to insist on baptism as an expression of their faith, and despite the persecution often-times endured by Christians and priests on the large Indian Ocean island.
In an announcement this week, the Orthodox Metropolis of Madagascar as well as the Brotherhood of Orthodox Missionaries called for godparents to volunteer, so that young people in Madagascar who embrace Christianity and ignore risks will be supported.
