The Holy Synod of the Church of Crete, in taking a different position from the Church of Greece, on Wednesday sent a letter to the relevant education and religious affairs ministry requesting that a pandemic-related curfew extend to 2 a.m. in the early morning hours between the iconic Resurrection Service on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.
The reason, according to hierarch of the Church of Crete, is for the splendorous Resurrection Service to be celebrated at midnight, as per the Greek Orthodox tradition.
