Church of Greece allocated more than 121 mln euros in 2018 for humanitarian mission

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece this week released figures showing that more than one million people in the country are provided with some form of assistance, mainly meals and groceries, provided by the Church through its huge humanitarian network around the country.
In fact, the Church of Greece now fields more than 98,000 points of assistance, such as parish collections for the needy, meals delivered to the door-step and Church food pantries.

Specifically, the relevant Church of Greece synodical committee for social welfare announced that in 2018 more than 121 million euros was allocated by the Church for humanitarian assistance programs, with more than 15,000 volunteers taking part.
