Members of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece’s Holy Synod concluded their sessions on Friday, with Church hierarchs briefed on the overall outlay provided by the Church for humanitarian work, such as the allotment of a stipend to families with at least three children in the border province of Thrace – the latter being a proposal by the Metropolitan of Xanthi, His Eminence Panteleimon.
The Holy Synod also approved a letter to be dispatched to the outgoing education minister, calling on the ministry’s leadership to immediately rescind a decision eliminating the listing of religious affiliation from high school diplomas.
