A new composition of the Autocephalous Church of Greece’s permanent Holy Synod will convene on Tuesday, inaugurating the 163rd synodical period. This week’s sessions of the Holy Synod will conclude on Thursday.
According to reports, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, will submit, for discussion, the issue of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s autocephaly next month. According to reports, Archbishop Ieronymos appears leaning towards recommending recognition of the autocephalous Ukrainian Church by the Church of Greece.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople last November granted the Tomos of Autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
