The Church today venerates the memory of St. Mamas of Caesarea, who was martyred at the age of 15 in third century Cappadocia, in central Asia Minor.
St. Mamas, the son of pious early Christians, Theodotus and Rufina, who were also martyred, remained faithful even after numerous tortures and in the face of execution.
