Today is the 4th Tuesday after Pascha, Great and Holy Easter Sunday.
The Church today venerates the memory of Epiphanius of Salamis, a 4th century Bishop and Church father, who ministered and spread the Gospels on eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
St. Epiphanius gained a reputation as a strong defender of Orthodoxy during his lifetime.
Holy relics of this saint are preserved today and venerated at the Monastery of I-viron, on Mount Athos, as well as the Kykkos Monastery on Cyprus.
The saint’s feast day is commemorated in the free parts of Famagusta, at two chapels, one in Aghia Napa and the other in Liopetri.
