The new Consul General of Greece in Toronto, Mr. Panagiotis Antonatos, visited our Holy Archdiocese. He was given a tour of the premises; met with some students who are already here for the new academic school year; and, met with His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Patara, Dean of the Theological Academy.
He had a long and constructive discussion with His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios. On Saturday, September 10th, he will attend the Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto, as well as the ordination to the deaconate of Mr. Christian Vela and the Annual Memorial Service that our Holy Archdiocese traditionally holds for its clergy, the great benefactors and the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate who have fallen asleep in the Lord. On Sunday, September 11, he will attend the Divine Liturgy at the Annunciation of the Theotokos Church in Toronto.
We wish the Honourable Consul General a “Warm Welcome” and great success in his work for the good of the Motherland Greece and the service of Hellenism here, for which we are confident that he will succeed.
