With the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch John X, and in the presence of His Grace Bishop Theodor Al-Ghandour, a sanctification of water prayer service was performed. Then, the land lot dedicated to the construction of the Patriarchal Monastery of Our Lady of the Annunciation was consecrated and blessed, by God’s grace and the intercession of the Mother of God. The land that covers an area of 28,000 square meters, was the generous donation from an Orthodox family. This event took place on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in Itaipava – Petropolis district. Three olive trees were planted as a symbol of peace and blessing.
The prayers were attended by Father Nicolau Cristo, Deacon Nectarios Bechara, Subdeacon Spiridon Chasi, Talal Saba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Commission and the representative of the Orthodox Women’s Association Leila Hajjar, as well as members of the Board of Directors Elia El-Dahr, George Rustom, and Abdel-Masih Al-Homsi. Chanter Nabila Salloum and the ladies, Rima Saba, Laila El-Dahr, Maria Luisa de Santos, Soraya Takla and, Mayera Beshara were present as well.
