Celebratory and devotional events of the Demetria 2022 series concluded over the weekend after 29 days at the Cathedral of St. Demetrios, in the same-name central Athens municipality.
Thousands of faithful and local residents took part in the events, with the concluding remembrance event devoted to the 100-year anniversary of the destruction of Smyrna, held in the municipality’s town hall.
