The Ionian University of Greece, under the leadership of its Rector, Professor Andreas Floros, will hold a special ceremony on Friday, 26 June 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the historic Marasli Patriarchal Urban School in the Phanar.
During the event, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will be conferred the title of Honorary Professor of the Department of Environment of the School of Environment at Ionian University.
The distinction recognises the Ecumenical Patriarch’s longstanding commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, efforts that have earned him international recognition as a leading advocate for ecological responsibility and the preservation of creation.
