The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, referred to the role of religious faith in creating a sustainable world and social cohesion, speaking at the 50th World Economic Forum this week in Davos, Switzerland. His All Holiness, in an address, also referred to the value of dialogue as a primary means towards this end, while sharply condemning any form of violence and religious intolerance.
The Ecumenical Patriarch bemoaned the tragedy, as he said, of many people in the modern era identifying religion with terrorism, war and intolerance.
