The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, returns to Greece today.
The Primate of the Mother Church will first visit the Athens Archdiocese this afternoon, where he will be received by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.

His All Holiness concluded a pastoral visit to northern Greece on June 1, a tour that also included the semi-autonomous monastic community of Mt. Athos.

On Friday, the Ecumenical Patriarch will be declared an honorary professor of the Open Greek University, to be held at the Zappeion Hall in downtown Athens. Afterwards, His All Holiness will be the guest of honor at a reception hosted by the new US ambassador to Greece, George Tsunis.

A reception in honor of the Ecumenical Patriarch will be hosted by Archbishop Ieronymos and hierarchs of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Greece on Saturday, at a downtown Athens hotel.
