The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Sunday received youth campers being hosted at an Orthodox Church summer camp on the Marmara Sea islet of Proti.
The Patriarch received the children and teens in the throne room of the Patriarchate’s Fanar-district seat.
The youth, members of Romania’s ethnic Greek communities, were accompanied by volunteer teachers and camp instructors, all of whom received the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s blessing.
The Patriarchate’s summer camp on Proti, known as Kinaliada in Turkish, also hosts children from Greece and from the remaining Orthodox communities in Turkey.
