The enthronement ceremony for the new Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, is set for Saturday morning – local time – at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady, in the Sydney suburb of Redfern.
Numerous Orthodox hierarchs from around the world have already arrived in Australia for the enthronement ceremony.
The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, will be represented by the Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia, His Eminence Stefanos.
Besides the significant presence of clerics and members of monastic communities, numerous Greek Orthodox faithful from around the island continent are expected to attend the ceremony.
Australian federal, state and local officials will also attend the resplendent enthronement.
