On September 27, 2020, the City Municipality of Zemun marked its Patron Saint-day, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy, which was officiated by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej in the Church of the Saint Nicholas of Myrra.
Archpriest staurophore Bozo Bakajlic, archpriest Drasko Tepavac, priests Vladimir Prazic and Andjelko Doder, archdeacon Stevan Rapajic, deacons Dragan Tanasijevic and Radomir Marinkovic concelebrated to the Patriarch. On that occasion, His Holiness the Patriarch ordained Mr. Vladimir Pekic a deacon.
The Holy Hierarch’s Liturgy was attended by some dignitaries of the City Municipality of Zemun and numerous faithful people. Due to preventive measures taken in order to reduce the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus infection, the traditional procession along the streets of Zemun was not held.
His Holiness the Patriarch blessed liturgical offerings in the Municipal place in the prayerful presence of the President of the City Municipality of Zemun, Mr. Gavril Kovacevic, and other Municipality dignitaries.
