The Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Atlanta, His Eminence Alexios, visited the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi on Mt. Athos this month. On many an early morning, His Eminence was busy in the Monastery’s vineyards, engaging in farm work.
Alexios, who was tonsured a monk at the Vatopedi Monastery in 1963, has a love of the land and the fruits it bears, with the vine harvest apparently a favorite.
