The Church today venerates the memory of Cosmas & Damian, the Holy Unmercenaries.
The feast day was commemorated in a splendorous manner on Friday at a dedicated cathedral in Thessaloniki’s Acropolis, with an Orthros chanted in the morning, followed by a con-celebratory Archieratical Divine Liturgy, officiated by the Abbot of the Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of the Vlatadon, His Grace Bishop Nikiforos.
