Wednesday’s feast day of Nektarios the Wonderworker, Bishop of Pentapolis, was solemnly celebrated at the St. Nektarios Palliative Care Center of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, where patients and healthcare staff had the opportunity to venerate a Holy Relic of the saint, conveyed by Fr. Daniel Alexandru, of the parish of the Evangelistria Belu.
The Holy Relic was placed next to an exact replica of the wonder-working Icon of the Panaghia Panta-NA-ssis, preserved at the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi.
The memory of St. Nektarios was also venerated on Wednesday on the picturesque Dodecanese Isle of Symi, with the resident Metropolitan, His Eminence Chrysostomos, officiating at an Orthros service and Divine Liturgy at the celebrating chapel at the Drakounta site, in the presence of numerous faithful, local office-holders and military representatives.
A litany of a Holy Relic of the saint was held around the chapel of St. Nektarios.
