Today marks the 57th anniversary of the death of noted Greek writer, painter and hagiographer Fotis Kontoglou.
His most noteworthy works of hagiography include the medieval chapel of the Panaghia of Kapnikarea, in central Athens, the Church of St. Andrew in the Passisia district of Athens, the St. George Church in the Kypseli district of Athens and the Church of the Live-Giving Spring in the township of Peania, east of the Greek capital.
A feature on Kontoglou and his artwork has been posted today on the Pemptousia platform.
