Former Greek prime minister Antonis Samaras on Sunday referred to the highly-anticipated television series on the life and works of 20th century St. Paisios, which led television ratings in Greece on the Thursday evenings in which it was broadcast over the past few months by the television channel Mega.
Speaking at a party congress of his ruling New Democracy (ND) party, Samaras pointed out the very high ratings achieved by the series, a production of the St. Maximus the Greek Institute, in response to what he called certain quarters who consider national identity as obsolete.
