The Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Elder Metropolitan of Chalcedon, His Eminence Emmanuel, on Thursday officiated at a trisagion memorial service at the Patriarchal chapel of St. Andrew for the repose of the soul of Elder Metropolitan Pavlos, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 87.
The former Metropolitan Paul of Amaseia had resided in the Holy See of Sweden for 40 years.
His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, when informed of the repose of his predecessor, first informed the Mother Church of Constantinople, and then arrived at the Cathedral of St. George in Stockholm, where he offered prayers for the rest of the soul of Elder Metropolitan Paul.
