A procession, blessing ceremony and foundation laying was held in the Black Sea port city of Constanta for the construction of a Romanian Orthodox Cathedral dedicated to St. Dionysius Erhan, with the Archbishop of Tomis, His Eminence Theodosie, officiating.
The Holy Synod of the Romanian Church officially canonized St. Dionysius in October 2018.

St. Dionysius was one of the most significant Romanian Church hierarchs in the first half of the 20th century, renowned for his intimate knowledge of the Scriptures and liturgical books, as well as his tireless missionary and pastoral work.

His relics were found to be incorrupt during restoration work at the Suruceni Monastery in Moldova, in July 2018.
