Four new assistant bishops were appointed during Wednesday’s session of the permanent Holy Synod meeting on Wednesday.
Archimandrite Filotheos Theoharis was appointed as the new first secretary of the Church of Greece’s Holy Synod.
Archimandrite Chrysostomos Panagopoulos was elected as an assistant bishop at the Archdiocese of Athens.
Archimandrite Agapios Dritsas was elected as the assistant bishop of the Metropolis of Corinth.
Finally, Archimandrite Theoclitos Doulias was elected as the new assistant bishop for the Metropolis of Mantinia and Kinouria, in the central Peloponnese of southern Greece.
Their ordinations will take place on Sunday at each Metropolis where they will be posted.
