On Saturday, 2 August 2025, at the Holy Church of the Wisdom of God in Heraklion, His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, together with Their Eminences, Metropolitan Andreas of Arkalochori, Kastelli and Viannos, Metropolitan Gerasimos of Petra and Chersonissos, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Ierapytna and Sitia, and Their Graces, Bishop Methodios of Knossos and Bishop Paisios Apameia, celebrated the Funeral Service of the late Eleni Meimari, mother of His Eminence Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia.
The condolences of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew were conveyed by the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete, Archimandrite Bartholomew Vogiatzoglou.
Afterwards, His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, on behalf of the attending Hierarchs, spoke about the person and gifts of the late Eleni and prayed that the Lord God would rank her among the Righteous and Saints.
