The Patriarchate of Georgia this week called on authorities in the Caucasus country, even at the last minute, to cancel a so-called “gay pride” series of events in the capital of Tbilisi, which are set to begin on Wednesday.
The Patriarchate warned that certain quarters want to exploit a small group of LGBT activists for their own purposes – with one purpose being to destroy the Church’s identity.
