The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers, officiated at a Doxology service on the occasion of the Greek Independence Parade in Manhattan.
Earlier, His Eminence officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City, while afterwards he thanked members of the Greek Presidential Guard, the Evzones, for their presence.
The Archbishop stated that “…Let us march with joy, pride and deep gratitude for the sacrifices of others, which have made our life possible – standing firm and faithful, like the mighty Evzones, to the cause of freedom for every person.”
