The Patriarch of All Romania, His Beatitude Daniel, on Monday attended the presentation, in Bucharest, of a Greek-Romanian language edition of the New Testament, an effort supported by the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi of Mount Athos.
The unveiling of the Greek-Romanian New Testament came on the first day of an international theological symposium hosted at the Patriarchal see in Bucharest.

Also attending the ceremony was the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, along with Elders of the Vatopedi brotherhood, hierarchs and clerics of the Bucharest Patriarchate, monks, nuns, faculty of the University of Bucharest’s school of Orthodox theology, Justinian the Patriarch, as well as theologians and students.

In his address, His Beatitude noted that “…we see the work of God through what the Abbot Ephraim said and did for our Church. It is well-known that many Romanian monks are present at the Monastery of Vatopedi, while the generosity and kindness of the Elder Ephraim is also well-known.”

Remaining in Romania, thousands of faithful attended a litany of the Holy Relics of St. Paisius of Neamt and St. Paraskeva of the Balkans, held through the streets of the city of Iasi.

Moreover, an estimated 20,000 faithful participated in a three-kilometer procession, called the “Path of the Saints”, led by His Eminence Metropolitan Teofan of Moldava and Bukovina.
