On the morning of Tuesday, 17th/30th June 2026, His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Hesychios of Capitolias, His Eminence Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, the Chief Dragoman, Archimandrite Mattheos, the Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod, Archimandrite Christodoulos, and Archdeacon Mark, visited the “Four Homes of Mercy – Siksek” Foundation in Bethany and bestowed his blessing upon its humanitarian ministry.
In particular, His Beatitude blessed the newly completed premises of the Foundation’s Department for Infants with Incurable Diseases. The Foundation was established on land donated by Jordan in 1946 by the late Greek Orthodox benefactress, Siksek, and has, from its inception to the present day, provided uninterrupted humanitarian care to patients of all ages suffering from incurable illnesses, with particular attention to infants whose medical conditions are beyond the capacity of hospitals or their families to provide the necessary treatment, rehabilitation, or continuing care.
His Beatitude was conducted on a tour of the new facilities by the Foundation’s former Director, Mrs Nadia Karaa, and its current Director, Mrs Diana Minsahouar, in the presence of the Mayor of Bethany and other representatives of the Palestinian Authority.
His Beatitude expressed his appreciation for the Foundation’s dedicated and selfless humanitarian service and blessed the newly completed facilities of its Department for Infants with Incurable Diseases.
The Foundation’s medical, nursing, and administrative staff, together with the children receiving care, expressed their gratitude to His Beatitude for the Patriarchate’s moral and material support, whether provided directly from its own resources or through the generous donations of benefactors.
