A Holy Relic of St. Daniel Katounakiotis of Smyrna was Translated on Sunday to the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, where the Holy Relic was solemnly and reverently received by the Monastery’s Abbot, the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, and Vatopedi Elders.
The Holy Relic was conveyed by Hieromonk Fr. Nifon Katounakiotis, and will forever remain at the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi for the blessing and veneration of the Mount Athos Monastery’s brotherhood and pilgrims.
The ecclesiastical service was officiated by the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Metropolitan of Adrianople, His Eminence Amphilochios, with the Elder Ephraim later referring to a great blessing for the venerable monastery, during a prayer service at the Catholicon, the main cathedral. The All-Reverend Abbot also emphasized the spiritual connection of St. Daniel with St. Joseph the Hesychast.
