The Honest Head of St. Gregory of Nyssa was conveyed on Monday to the celebrating Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Unmercenaries, Cosmas and Damian, in the west Athens municipality of Nea Ionia, for veneration by the clergy and faithful.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Metropolitan of Aneon, His Eminence Makarios, officiated at a festal Vesper, co-officiated by the Archimandrite Spiridonas, the Abbot of the historic Holy Monastery of Hozoviotissa, on the Aegean Island of Amorgos.
The Holy Relic will remain at the cathedral until Wednesday.
